A new school & opportunities
Familiar community & values

Our first hope is that NSB continues as the school we all love and we hope that the community will put their efforts into NSB as the priority so that it may flourish. In the event this does not happen, please sign up below to receive email updates and meeting notifications about contingency plans for a new school.
Our Vision
In the event that NSB cannot open its doors in the fall of 2026,
we are building a ballet school as a contingency that expands on the community of faculty, students, and families you already know and love.
Our mission is to provide accessible and exceptional dance education that nurtures artistic growth, inspires creativity, builds empathy and fosters a lifelong appreciation for the arts. Our goal is to empower children to thrive both on and off the stage.
We are in the process of securing inspiring studio space in the Reading area as a contingency. Our faculty cares deeply about nurturing young dancers at all stages of training, from pre-ballet to pre-professional, by providing opportunities for joy, setting high standards for technical excellence, and fostering artistry. Those values apply whether you study in our day time pre-professional program, in our after school program, or in our adaptive ballet program. Students will have opportunities to train in movement styles beyond ballet to develop their versatility and they will have opportunities to perform. We hope that our students will apply what they learn in our school to all aspects of their lives because we believe that the dedication, perseverance, self-awareness, and self-regulation that is learned through ballet training, and the empathy, friendship, and community that is shared in a school, can help students achieve any goal they set for themselves.
Daytime Conservatory programming will provide training to prepare students for the realities of life in a professional ballet company. In addition to developing technique, excellence, and artistry, this program aims to help dancers navigate casting expectations, rehearsal etiquette, understudy responsibilities, perform corps de ballet and soloist roles, and navigate the many challenges that accompany bringing a ballet from studio to stage. This program also aims to help highly motivated students identify their strengths and direct their focus towards expanding their skills to become more versatile and employable artists. We also aim to help young dancers and their families learn how to care for their minds and bodies through an evidenced-based injury prevention program.
All of this work is being conducted as a back-up, only if NSB cannot continue. All faculty's first priority is to support NSB and this new school would only formalize if NSB decides it cannot continue for the 26-27 season.
